Boy gets bravery award for saving dad

A seven-year-old boy who fought horrific injuries to save his father’s life by walking a kilometre to fetch help has received a NSW bravery award.

Tyler Moon suffered two punctured lungs and seven broken ribs when the quad bike he and his father David were riding crashed near their remote home in Milton on the state’s south coast two years ago.

The pair managed to get halfway back to the house before Mr Moon collapsed from his own critical internal injuries and realised he could go no further.

His own lungs filling with blood, Tyler somehow battled his way the final kilometre to get help for his dad before collapsing himself.
