When the film first came out, viewers were astounded by the innovative visual effects and thrilling cinematic experience. James Cameron’s blockbuster movie eventually made $2.789 billion worldwide, breaking his previous record-holder, Titanic.
The new global total for the movie is $2.798 billion, which is one million more than the current total for Avengers: Endgame. A running joke about the whole thing is that Zoe Saldana is the true winner because she was in both movies. Saldana played Neytiri in Avatar and Gamora in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). She made appearances in both Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame and the critically acclaimed Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Cameron finished filming Avatar 2 despite production delays brought on by the coronavirus pandemic, and Avatar 3 was scheduled to wrap up immediately after it.
The Russo Brothers and Marvel Studios joined Saldana in congratulating Cameron and the Avatar cast on outperforming Avengers: Endgame.
