LA County has so many people that even though Trump only received 26.87% of the vote, there were more Trump votes (1,145,530) than in any other county in America.

The largest county by area in Nevada (Nye) is 47000 sq km. I chose kilometers instead of miles because it matches nicely with the population of 46500. Less than one person per sq km. It does not make the top 50 “least densely populated” counties in the US according to Wikipedia.
LA County is 12300 sq km, so 816 people in each sq km.

I live in RI and a lot of places in the US have more population than the entirety of RI. We’ve been right around 1.05 million ever since 2000.
