Visa requirements for Japanese citizens are administrative entry restrictions by the authorities of other states placed on citizens of Japan. As of 26 March 2019, Japanese citizens had visa-free or visa on arrival access to 189 countries and territories, ranking the Japanese passport the strongest passport in the world in terms of travel freedom alongside Singapore and South Korea according to the Henley Passport Index.
