How Was Luke Perry Buried?

Luke Perry, an American actor who rose to fame after playing Dylan McKay in the Beverly Hills 90210 in the 90s, passed away on March 4, 2019, due to a massive stroke. But did you know that Perry was buried in a unique way?

Being a huge fan of nature, Luke Perry’s family chose to give him a zero-waste burial. He was placed in a mushroom burial suit that would digest your body and allow you to rejoin nature.

Who is Luke Perry?

Coy Luther “Luke” Perry III was born on October 11, 1966, in Mansfield, Ohio. Perry and his siblings were raised in Fredericktown, Ohio, after his mother remarried after her divorce with Coy Luther Perry Jr.

Perry moved to Los Angeles, California, in 1984. He wanted to pursue a career in acting after finishing high school. In order to support himself while he was still figuring out his acting career, he worked odd jobs like asphalt paving and working at a doorknob factory.

Perry appeared in the music video of Twisted Sister in 1985, and by 1988 he auditioned for 256 acting jobs before he finally made it. He then moved to New York, and he played roles on daytime soaps like Loving and Another World. While he only appeared in a few episodes, these small breaks were the stepping stones he needed to make it big in the industry.

In 1990, Perry got the role for Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills 90210. He originally auditioned for the role of Steve Sanders, but it was given to Ian Ziering instead. Perry’s role in this teen show transformed him into a popular teen idol. In August 1991, a riot broke out when 10,000 teenage girls attended an autograph session with him at The Fashion Mall at Plantation. He left after the first 90 seconds because of the rowdy crowd.

Perry had more in mind than just being Dylan McKay. In an attempt to find more mature roles to play, he left the show in 1995.

I’m going to be linked with him until I die, but that’s actually just fine. I created Dylan McKay. He’s mine. When you’re in the professional acting business, you have to look into all these offers, and I don’t mean anything bad about it, but creatively, it’s something I have done before, and I don’t know how it will benefit me if I do it again.

Luke Perry’s Illness and Death

Perry suffered from a massive stroke at his home in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, on February 27, 2019. Shortly after, he experienced a second stroke, and his family decided to remove him from life support on March 4, 2019.

Perry was always a fan of nature, and his family made sure to honor his legacy after he passed. His daughter, Sophie Perry, said that the family chose to bury Perry in the Infinity Burial Suit. It is a biodegradable mushroom suit that allows your body to rejoin nature.

My dad discovered it and was more excited by this than I have ever seen him. He was buried in this suit, one of his final wishes. They are truly a beautiful thing for this beautiful planet, and I want to share it with all of you. Now, mushrooms hold an entirely new meaning for me. Any explanation I give will not do justice to the genius that is the mushroom burial suit, but it is essentially an eco-friendly burial option via mushrooms. All I can say is that you should all look into them at coeio.com or just by googling ‘mushroom burial suit.’
