Dabo Swinney – Clemson University in South Carolina
Swinney is among the highest-paid state employees in the United States. He is also the head football coach for the Clemson Tigers since 2008. His most recent contract got him a $93 million deal, and he deserves it after leading his team to two consecutive national championships, including a historic 15-0 season in 2018.
John Calipari – University of Kentucky
Alongside Swinney in the highest-paid list is University of Kentucky’s basketball head coach John Calipari. He has been leading the Kentucky Wildcats since 2009. Before signing his new contract of $93 million, he was paid $86 million annually for a decade. His career was a massive success, with 733 official wins and consistently leading his team to the final fours for four seasons.
Nick Saban – University of Alabama
Saban is the head coach of the University of Alabama’s Crimson Tide. He recently signed an eight-year deal for $8.9 million annually. He was formerly the head coach for the Miami Dolphins and has led the team to six national titles. He has also been named the best college football coach in history by CBS Sports.
