How Will the Last Season of Better Call Saul Connect to the Breaking Bad Series?

Better Call Saul is a television series in the United States created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. It is a prequel and spin-off of Gilligan’s previous series; Breaking Bad. The series is set primarily in the early to mid-2000s in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the series follows Jimmy McGill, an earnest lawyer, and former con artist, as he evolves into Saul Goodman, an egocentric criminal defense attorney. But do you know how they’ll be linked to the Breaking Bad series?

The final season of Better Call Saul will wrap up Jimmy’s complicated journey to becoming Walter White’s consigliere, as well as provide closure to the stories of Breaking Bad no-shows like the scheming drug cartel leader Lalo and the cartel’s double agent Nacho.

The Plot of Better Call Saul

Saul Goodman was a struggling working-class lawyer named Jimmy McGill before meeting Walter White. How did McGill come to be known as Mr. Goodman, and what brought him to his life with the infamous Heisenberg in the first place? Better Call Saul is the origin story of a man struggling to survive in a harsh, exploitative world where anyone and everyone will try to destroy him and his dreams. (Source: IMDB)

The Comeback of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman

Following the announcement that Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul would make cameo appearances in the final season of Better Call Saul, Paul told The Hollywood Reporter that the characters would return for the final season. Paul revealed that the writers came up with an unusual way to bring them back.

I’m thrilled with how well we did. It’s entertaining, and I believe people will enjoy it.

Aaron Paul, American Actor

The Better Call Saul Twitter account announced Walt and Jesse’s return by posting a photo of the pair from the season 2 episode Negro Y Azul, which aired right before the episode in which they meet Saul Goodman.

This suggests that Season 6 will feature a time jump that will reveal what Saul was up to before and after Walt entered his life. It’s unlikely, but not impossible, that Jimmy/Saul/Gene will run into the late Walter White in Nebraska. Jesse, who fled to Alaska in the Breaking Bad sequel film El Camino, may also have unfinished business with the former lawyer. That would be quite unexpected. (Source: Time)

Bob Odenkirk Examines Jimmy McGill’s Development

Odenkirk never warmed up to Saul, but things are different with Jimmy, especially after filming the sixth and final season.

Jimmy McGill, the character who played Saul Goodman, was a favorite of mine. I still didn’t agree with the decisions he made with his life energy. He truly allowed his resentments to guide him, and he allowed his feelings of hurt to be the driving force behind what he did. That is a mistake, in my opinion. I can see why people do it… but it’s not going to get you anywhere over a long time.
