FONTANA, Calif. — Her martial arts skills may not be quite what they once were, but still, you don’t mess with Lady Ninja.

Authorities say that’s a lesson a California man learned painfully after he began shoving around an 82-year-old woman at a Fontana apartment building.

The woman’s 67-year-old friend, Lorenza Marrujo, jumped into the fray and with a swift kick here, a finger-bending maneuver there and a couple of solid elbow smashes to the sternum it was all over. Police arrived to find him on the floor with one of Marrujo’s knees on his neck and the other on his chest.

A finger lock isn’t exactly easy to apply in a real life situation given their small size and they tend to be the other individual’s focal point of attention as well, so yes some serious skill there.

Goddamn I want to meet this woman. She has a way with words, and elbows.

I just want to make one thing clear: though this woman is a badass, there were a million ways this could’ve gone wrong. Self defense is a great skill to have, but only in a break-glass-case-of-emergency last resort.

Knees on the neck is a popular move these days.

I don’t think this is accurate. Unless the guy was nodding on heroin or GHB, maybe. I could be wrong but having taught self defence and jujitsu for over 20 years, I would NEVER teach anyone to try this. So many things wrong here! Weight, techniques… Never mind. Hats off if this is correct! Glad everyone was safe, regardless.
