It is one of the longest-running American animated television shows. Spongebob Squarepants centers around the journeys of Spongebob Squarepants, the yellow sea sponge, and his friends in Bikini Bottom, a fictional underwater city residing in the Pacific Ocean.
Spongebob Squarepants lives in a pineapple in Bikini Bottom, with Squidward Tentacles and Patrick Star as his neighbors. His daily life usually revolves around his experiences as a fry cook in the Krusty Krab and his adventures with Patrick Star, Squidward Tentacles, Sandy Cheeks, Gary, and Mr. Krabs.
Stephen Hillenburg rooted most of the shows’ ideas in The Intertidal Zone, an unpublished book that Hillenburg wrote to educate kids about marine life. In 1916, he slowly began making Spongebob Squarepants an animated television show, finally pitching a 7-minute pilot episode of Spongebob to Nickelodeon one year after. Nickelodeon initially wanted Spongebob to be a young child in school, while Hillenburg wanted the opposite. He pushed with his idea for Spongebob to be an adult. Both parties reached a compromise when Hillenburg created the boating school and Mrs. Puff’s character so that Spongebob would still be a student as an adult.

Mr. Krabs and Plankton were childhood best friends, protecting each other from their bully named Billy. Stinky Burgers, the favorite burger joint of Mr. Krabs and Plankton, got closed; that event made them dedicate their time to create burgers to gain the adoration of the other kids.
When the duo thought they got the perfect recipe, they let Old Man Jenkins taste it, making him fall to his death. Mr. Krabs and Plankton fought about the other’s mistake. Plankton was angered and immediately left, shutting the door behind him, which caused various ingredients to fall from the shelf and into the burger batter, creating the perfect Krabby Patty recipe for Mr. Krabs.

Vincent Waller, a producer in Spongebob, revealed the absence of meat in the Krabby Patty, saying that there were no animal products in it. It’s known that Hillenburg had planned this since the beginning.
Plankton’s voice actor and one of the writers of Spongebob, Douglas Lawrence, further explained how the writers aren’t allowed to portray fish as food in the show. Many theories have attempted to know the ingredients of the Krabby Patty, but it is only the show’s creator, Stephen Hillenburg, who knows of its contents.
