Actress Jan Stirling had airfare to fly to the US but found lingerie she liked, used the last of her money to buy it, trading in the airfare for a ticket on a steamship. Midway thru the voyage she learned that the airship she had been booked on, the Hindenburg, had been destroyed in a fire.
