If you’ve seen iconic films like Face Off, Con Air, and City of Angels, you are definitely familiar with the Nicolas Cage. There is even a Film Festival dedicated to his work. But did you know he crashed in one of them?

Nicolas Cage once crashed in his own Film Festival. He watched four of his own films and hosted a 47-minute Q&A. He then went on to read a 10-minute short story in the most Nic Cage kind of way.

Who is Nicolas Cage?

Nicolas Kim Coppola also known as Nicolas Cage was born on January 7, 1964 in Long Beach, California. He was raised in the Catholic faith with deep familial roots. His father was a literature professor, while his mother was a dancer and choreographer.

Cage had an uncle who was a director, and other relatives who worked in the film industry like Gian-Carlo Cappola, a film producer, and actors Robert Carmine and Jason Schwartzman. He even has two brothers who are radio personalities in New York.

Cage attended the Beverly Hills High School and went on to continue his college education at UCLA under the School of Theater, Film and Television. He knew he wanted to act at a very young age. He aspired to become James Dean when he watched him on the film Rebel Without a Cause, East of Eden.

Nothing affected me—no rock song, no classical music—the way Dean affected me in Eden. It blew my mind. I was like, ‘That’s what I want to do’.

He started his career with a minor role in the film Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982). He went on to audition for bigger roles and finally landed the lead in the film Moonstruck.

When Did Nicolas Cage Crash His Own Film Festival?

The Nicolas Cage Film Festival is celebrated every year on Cage’s birth month, January. In the celebration on 2017 Cage actually attended the festivities and gave his fans the show of their life. He watched four of his films; Bangkok Dangerous, Bringing Out the Dead, Army of One, and Lord of War. He then answered questions at a 47-minute Q&A.

The highlight of the event was the reading of Edgar Allan Poe’s The Tell-Tale Heart, which was read in the most Nicolas Cage-y way possible; dramatic all throughout. (Source: Independent)

Where is Nicolas Cage Now?

Nicolas Cage is very active in the film industry. He is currently in the pre-production of a TV Mini Series called Joe Exotic, with other films in post-production. He keeps himself very busy.
