Both companies use a pretty similar blocky font too. Not surprising to see that they have had a bunch of lawsuits with each other over the years.

What an interesting fact. I had never looked into it and just assumed it was the same company. Thanks for posting this!

Fun Fact, Herr’s potato chips. They only exist because of Hersheys, they gifted/loan the money to start up Herr’s potato chips.

Next time you go to chick fil a and they include waffle potato chips, if you like them you can buy the waffle fries from the store. Both are made by Herr’s just different packaging.

Another fun fact is companies are allowed to have the same trademarked names as long as they are in different industries. E.g. dove soap and dove chocolate.

I am surprised the two Hersheys are allowed tbh.

Years ago I worked at a pretty cool movie rental store in Berks County PA that also sold ice cream and it was Hershey’s brand. Every so often we would have a customer ask about it and answer no it’s not the same as Hershey Park/Hershey’s candy. Frigging LOVED the Coconut Almond Chip and the Crazy Vanilla. To me it was underrated ice cream. Used to be pretty premium quality and the prices reflected it. Not sure if it’s the same quality but I see it around sometimes .

I am from that area. I’ve been around both my entire life and never had a clue about this. Thanks!

Huh, here I always thought Hershey’s Chocolate was named for the town, since they have a headquarters there.

I put this together in second grade, when I read “No affiliation with the Hershey Chocolate Company” on the label

I’ve never had Hershey’s Ice Cream, but it’s got to be better than the chocolate.
