‘Barnes mystery’ of Attenborough garden skull solved
Julia Martha Thomas was killed by her maid, Kate Webster, but her head remained missing. The case became known as “the Barnes mystery”.
Alison Thompson said all of the evidence presented to her pointed to the body being that of Mrs Thomas, who was in her 50s. “This is a fascinating case and a good example of how good old-fashioned detective work, historical records and technological advances came together to solve the ‘Barnes mystery’,” said Ch Supt Clive Chalk.
Damn he is that old.
The story of the murder is actually [pretty interesting](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Julia_Martha_Thomas) and was quite the scandal in it’s day.
Hmmm where was Mr. Sir Attenborough on the night of 1879???
But where did SHE get the skull!?
Just when you think you know a guy…
Is David a suspect?
And could anyone attest to Sr. Attenborough’s whereabouts in 1879?
Book him Lou.
Damn, I knew he was old, but it really slaps you in the face when you see it in print. How’d he do her in?
He could probably commit murder and we’d let him off.
“So little is known about this woman. Who was she? How was she killed? Who was her murderer? And how did her skull wind up…in this backyard? These are questions that we may never know the answer to, but they fascinate us to this day.”
