“Shaun of the Dead” was considering the title “From Dusk Till Shaun.” And that “Into the Spider-Verse” has a “From Dusk Till Shaun” movie poster in the background- suggesting it exists in a parallel universe.

How Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse Landed Its Excellent Shaun Of The Dead Gag

The Oscar-winning animated film is packed with all kinds of references within its impressive animation style that takes some serious examination. *Suggesting* it exists in a parallel universe?

  2. SinaNomina

so then it would have been about vampires and not zombies?

  3. misdirected_asshole

Did the gang of parallel universe Spidermen not make that possibility clear?

I would suggest that Shaun of the dead make a sequel called “From Dusk Till Shaun” but I would want that to be in a universe where movie sequels are actually as good, if not better, than the original.

Doesn’t the existence of Spiderman alone suggest that it’s not taking place in our universe?

There’s a bunch of these apparently

Like there’s a clone high movie poster too IIRC, and a car from eastern europe that went bust stateside actually took off and has ads in times square

There were a lot of fabulous touches like that in this scene alone. Off the top of my head I remember:

    * A poster of *Clone College*, a follow-up to the Clone High series
    * A news report depicting Stephen Curry (an NBA star), as a famous golfer
    * Planet Inglewood, rather than Planet Hollywood
    * A “Baby Shower” movie which I assume is supposed to be Bridesmaids

(You can see hints of the last two in the linked image as well. Also not sure what the Seth Rogen *Hold Your Horses* is supposed to be).

and plenty more I’m surely forgetting.

IIRC From Dusk Till Shaun was the name of an eventual sequel rather than the original title

Am I the only one who thought he was considering into the spider verse as a name first time I read it or?
