Randy is seven years younger than Jermaine and three years younger than Michael. He missed the popularity of the Jackson Five as he was too young to perform with them at the time.

Randy Jackson met Alejandra Oaziaza in 1986. At the time, she was 17, and he was 24. They dated for quite a while, but they never got married. Instead, they had two children, Genevieve and Randy Jr., because Randy was a bit too immature for Alejandra when he was away from home. Jermaine did not hesitate to move in.
